Dr Yap Chi Wei has been working in the field of R&D and Advanced Engineering since 1994. Dr Yap has worked in several prominent companies, including Chartered Systems and Engineering and Creative Technology in the early part of his career after obtaining his bachelor’s degree, and after completing his Ph.D, he took on technical leadership roles in Enabling Technology Pty Ltd, ET Designers Pte Ltd and PCI. Within PCI, Dr Yap has been leading the identification and development of Advanced Engineering platforms ranging from single board computers to IoT and AIoT by working closely and collaboratively with PCI’s Business Development teams and PCI’s customers. These Advanced Engineering platforms have been successfully developed and integrated into excellent solutions for PCI’s customers helping them stay ahead of the curve and their competitors. Dr Yap has a Bachelor of Engineering with First Class Honours in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Heriot-Watt University, UK, and a Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (majoring in Video Communications) from The University of Western Australia.
